The number of COVID-19 patients in the country has risen to 1045 this evening after 17 further patients were confirmed.
Director General of Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe stated that two of the patients were Sri Lanka Navy personnel at the Mullaitivu quarantine centre while the other 15 were all recent returnees from Dubai who are undergoing quarantine at the Giragama quarantine centre.
The number of recoveries has also risen to 604, while 432 patients continue to receive hospital treatment.
A total of 1108 PCR tests were conducted yesterday, where one COVID-19 patient was detected.
