A teacher who was arrested in Balangoda yesterday (Dec 06) for sending answers via text message to a candidate sitting the GCE Ordinary Level examination English paper, was produced before the Balangoda Magistrate along with the candidate today (Dec 07).
Balangoda Magistrate and District Judge Duminda P. Mudunkotuwa today ordered the teacher and the candidate to be released on bail of two sureties of Rs. 200,000 each.
The teacher had reportedly been sending the answers to the student via mobile phone during the English examination which was held yesterday.
