An individual has been arrested in connection with a shooting at Kohuwala which killed a businessman and left another injured this week, police said.
The suspect, a 39-year old, had been arrested by officers attached to the Western Province (South) Crimes Division in Nugegoda.
According to the police, two persons on a motorcycle had fired gunshots at the victims while they were travelling in a Land Cruiser jeep along Jambugasmulla Mawatha.
Police said that two helmets which had been used by the suspects had been recovered at the time of the arrest. A motorcycle believed to have been used in the incident too had been recovered in Delkanda this week.
The suspect is due to be produced before court today (Jul 31).
