The Fisheries Ministry has instructed 18 harbours to prevent one-day fishing vessels from going out to sea for 24 hours starting from 3 pm today (Aug 13).
These instructions had been issued due to the inclement weather which has resulted in rough seas and heavy winds in several areas of the country.
Accordingly, steps are also being taken to bring back fishing boats which have already left the Sri Lankan shores, the Fisheries Ministry noted.
