The one-day service to obtain National Identity Card (NIC)'s will not be in operation today (Jul 4), the Commissioner General of the Registration of Persons Department said.
This is due to a technical failure in the computer systems at the Department, Viyani Gunathilaka, the Commissioner General added. However, he noted that efforts are currently underway to rectify the error in the system.
