An individual has died due to electrocution in Gampola yesterday (Aug 29).
Police said the victim had been electrocuted while installing an electric fence to protect a paddy field from wild elephants.
The deceased has been identified as 46-year old Ranjith Tissa Kumara, a resident of Deniyagama.
An autopsy is to be carried out on his remains which currently lie at the Gampola Hospital.
