One killed in shooting at Jampettah Street
An individual has died following a shooting at Jampettah Street in Colombo yesterday (Oct 8).
Police said an unidentified person on a motorcycle had opened fire at the victim at around 7:50 pm
The victim, 24-year old Meneth Sooriyakanth, had died while receiving treatment at the Colombo General Hospital.
According to the Police, the victim had been arrested over a narcotic related offence recently and had been granted bail this week.
A search operation is underway to arrest the suspect who had carried out the shooting.
