The Opposition Leader of the Kalutara Pradeshiya Sabha and another individual were arrested by the Kalutara South Police over forcibly entering a playground in Kalutara in violation of quarantine laws.
Police said the suspects were arrested after a complaint was made by the Manager of the Vernon Fernando Stadium in Kalutara alleging that some persons had broken the locks at the entry gates into the stadium and entered it on June 23.
The suspects were arrested for violating quarantine laws, illegal assembly and causing damage to public property. They are due to be produced before the Kalutara Magistrate's Court.
