Outgoing German Ambassador to Sri Lanka Joern Rohde who met the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa today at Temple Trees raised concerns over five month long detention of a German national who is currently under Prevention of Terrorism (PTA) detention without being charged.
“ I raised the case of a German citizen detained under PTA for almost 5 months now without being charged. Underlined the need to expedite his case.” Ambassador Rohde tweeted in his official Twitter handle.
Ambassador Rohde has completed a four year tenure as the Ambassador for Sri Lanka and Maldives. He said he met Prime Minister Rajapaksa today to bid farewell after 4 exciting years. “Exchanged views on tourism development, economic issues like import restrictions and the upcoming elections.”
