Over 1,000 arrested in Western Province

Over 1,000 persons wanted by the police in the Western Province were arrested in an operation carried out from dusk to dawn, Police said.

Among 1113 persons arrested were 424 persons on whom warrants had been issued for not attending courts.

Police have been carrying out similar operations in the past few weeks.
