A 37-year-old man from Dehiwala was arrested by Customs Narcotics Control Unit officers for bringing down 4048 Methamphetamine (Ecstasy) pills worth over Rs. 20 million to the country from France, police said.
The detection was made at the Central Mail Exchange and the pills have arrived concealed inside a shoe rack made from fabric. The item has been marked as a gift, police said.
The suspect has been handed over to Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigation.
