A group of Investors from several companies of Pakistan has arrived to Island to find out about the new investment opportunities where they met with President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s official residence,yesterday.
The representatives from leading companies in Pakistan informed President Sirisena that they are ready for new investments in the fields of health, housing, tourism, science and technology in Sri Lanka.Thus attention was given to the new investment opportunities in the fields of building highways and oil exploration.
The investors expressed their interest in constructing a state-of-the-art hospital in Sri Lanka to perform heart surgeries and to build two tourism zones as well as to construct a low-cost new housing scheme.
Minister Malik Samarawickrama, Secretary General of National Economic Council Prof. Lalith Samarakoon and senior officials of the Finance Ministry and the BOI participated in this event.
