A protest was staged opposite the Saman Eliya Sinhala College in Hatton demanding the removal of its Principal earlier today (Mar 19).
Around 50 parents took part in the protest by claiming that the Principal had not reported to work for eight consecutive days.
The protestors also claimed that there was no significant improvement in the activities of the school since the current Principal assumed office.
Further, the parents stressed that the educational activities of the children were hampered since there is a shortage of teachers at the school.
Accordingly, the protestors called on the Zonal Education Officer to take action to transfer the Principal with immediate effect.
