Parliament informed National Government continues

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) General Secretary Mahinda Amaraweera told Parliament today that the National Government was still valid and continues.

PM Wickremesinghe stated that the agreement on the National Government was still valid and there was no need to amend it. Meanwhile. UPFA General Secretary stated that the UPFA had not withdrawn from the National Government. 

The PM and United National Party (UNP) Leader and the UPFA General Secretary made these statements in response to queries by Opposition whether the agreement to form a National Government between the UNP and UPFA continued. This was on the basis that the agreement had been signed only for a period of two years.
