Parliament to meet on Sept 1
A special gazette has been released announcing that the first session of the eighth Parliament will meet at the Parliament Hall, Sri Jayawardenapura from 9.30 a.m. on September 01 and not September 2.
The announcement has been made by the Secretary to the President P. B. Abeykoon, under the directive of President Maithripala Sirisena, the government news portal reported.
The gazette notification has been issued under the powers vested in the President by Article 70 of the Constitution.
