Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking at an event in the President’s office had reportedly said,the President has decided to convene Parliament on the November 05.
However, the Speaker's Office is yet to confirm the reconvening of Parliament
Speaker Karun Jayasuriya yesterday met with President Sirisena following two written appeals to reconvene Parliament at the earliest.The President during the discussion requested that the Speaker facilitate the necessary requirements for Mr Mahinda Rajapaksa as Prime Minister in Parliament.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
President Anura Kumara Dissanayake today warned that Ceylon Electricity Board Employees would have to make a choice in the next two months.
