The average voter turnout in the country for the 2020 parliamentary election averaged at 25% as at 10.00am today.
Long lines of voters were seen at polling centres in some districts from the time polling began.
Following is the percentage of voter turnout as at 10am: Colombo 27%, Kalutara 20%, Matale 25%, Matara 22%, Kegalle 25%, Trincomalee 30%, Ratnapura 24%, Galle 20%, Puttalam 16%, Nuwara Eliya 25%, Jaffna 20%, Batticaloa 16%, Kandy 25%, Badulla 25, Hambantota 24%, Polonnaruwa 25%, Gampaha 18% and Kurunegala 25%.
