A party leaders meeting is to get underway today at 9am headed by Speaker Karu Jayasuriya.
The meeting is to finalise the Parliament Select Committee.
Parliament is set to convene today while visitors will not be permitted in the gallery at today´s session.
In the event an agreement regarding the composition of the Select Committee cannot be reached, the Speaker is vested with powers to determine the number of representatives for each political party.
The United People’s Freedom Alliance has thus far named seven representatives while the JVP and the TNA have named two representatives each.
The United National Party has named MPs Lakshman Kiriella, Patali Champika Ranawaka, Rauff Hakeem, Mano Ganesan and Rishard Bathiudeen as their representatives.
The Parliament Select Committee comprises of 12 members while 16 names have been proposed in total.
