Health Minister Pavitra Wanniarachchi has called the Sri Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) for a meeting to discuss the reason for disqualifying three prominent Russian state universities without her consent, a senior official of the Healthy Ministry said.
He said the Minister has said that there was no reason for removing the universities from their approved list unless the SLMC has strong proof for doing so.
The Cultural Section of the Embassy of Russia here expressed its concern over SLMC’s decision to remove People's Friendship University of Russia (formerly known as Patrice Lumumba University), Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and Tver State Medical University from their approved list.
