The petition filed prohibiting the functioning of Mahinda Rajapaksa as premiere along with his cabinet ministers was postponed until March 12 by the Court of Appeal today (Feb 21).
This was announced when the case was taken up before Justice Arjuna Obeysekere at the Appeal Court today.
Meanwhile Attorney Dinesh Vidanapathirana representing the prosecution had announced that his party would consider withdrawing the case filed by 122 parliamentarians representing the UNP, TNA, JVP, SLMC in December last year.
Attorney Dinesh Vidanapathirana had thereby requested court to issue a date on which the prosecution could inform court on the withdrawal of the case.
