The Ministry of Health and Indigenous Medicine has asked the IGP to allow all pharmacies to remain open during the time of curfew.
A media release by the ministry stated that the decision was taken in view of the large numbers of patients who are in need of medicines who have been severely inconvenienced owing to the closure of pharmacies during the curfew.
Accordingly, members of the public would be able to visit pharmacies to purchase medicines during curfew times by producing their diagnosis card or doctor's prescription. which will serve as their curfew passes, the ministry added.
The ministry has also requested the IGP to allow employees of pharmacies and vehicles transporting medicines to travel unhindered during times of curfew.
