A 59 year old mother of four children from St' James West Plantation Unit in Linthula died today due to wasp attack , Police said.
Seven other plantation workers also injured and hospitalized due to wasp attack when they were engaged in cleaning tea crops in the mountain this afternoon.
The victim identified as Aleema Bibi (59), a resident of the same plantation unit in Linthula. The victim was pronounced dead when locals took her to hospital for further treatment.
In recent past, there were many incidents of plantation workers came under wasp attack resulting deaths and left many workers injured. Plantation workers alleged that company administration failed to ensure workers are in a safe environment during work. (P.Kethees)
