The daily wage of estate workers will be increased through a budgetary allocation at this year's budget, TPA parliamentarian Mano Ganesan said today (Feb 12).
He made this remark via his social media handle following a discussion that was held between Plantations Minister Navin Dissanayake and Ministers Ravidndra Samaraweera, Palany Thigamabram, V.S. Radhakrishna, M. Thilakarajah at Ministry of Estate Infrastructure.
Talks at the meeting also revolved on reforming the plantation sector in a bid to include estate workers as inclusive partners in the industry.
