Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has issued relevant instructions to introduce an insurance scheme for the leaders of all religious communities.
These directives were issued to Buddha Sasana Minister Gamini Jayawickrama Perera during a meeting which was held prior to this week's cabinet discussion.
During this meeting, Minister Perera had proposed that it was necessary to introduce an insurance scheme for all religious leaders.
Accordingly, the Prime Minister had instructed the Buddha Sasana Minister to introduce an insurance facility that would provide a plethora of benefits for the religious leaders.
