Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe presented the 19th Amendment to the Constitution to Parliament which aims to do away with the all powerful presidency in the country. The Bill, if approved by Parliament , will make the Prime Minister the Head of the Cabinet of Ministers with authority to appoint members to the cabinet. Thus executive power will be vested with the cabinet of Minsters. Right to Information has been vested as fundamental right in the 19th amendment
