Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe took to his official Twitter handle to call for the immediate convening of Parliament.
Mr Wickremesinghe said " Every day that the convening of Parliament is delayed is a nail in the coffin of democracy in our country. The sovereignty of the people is eroded each day."
Meanwhile, a gazette notification by the President claimed PArliament would be summoned on November 14. Just two days ahead of the initially scheduled November 16.
