Prime Minister's Secretary Saman Ekanayake has been summoned before the police unit of the Presidential Commission probing state sector corruption on August 27.
A Commission Spokesman said that Mr. Ekanayake had been issued notice to provide a statement under an ongoing inquiry into the building in which the Agriculture Ministry is located at present.
Inquiries carried out by the Commission have revealed that the building had been purchased on a lease agreement and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe had submitted a cabinet proposal in this regard.
Accordingly, Mr. Ekanayake has also been asked to produce the relevant documents of the cabinet paper to the presidential commission.
