A 48-year old Pakistani national was arrested with 2.8 kilos of heroin at a hotel in Kollupitiya yesterday (Jul 10).
The arrest had been set in motion during a joint operation involving the Special Task Force and the Police Narcotics Bureau
Police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said the Pakistani national had arrived in the island on the July 7 and had been planning to travel to South Africa.
The suspect has been held on a detention order for seven days after being produced before the Fort Magistrate's court.
