A team of police personnel along with the residents of Talawakele managed to douse a fire which broke out at a wholesale shop in the area at around 12:05 am today (Dec 30).
According to the police, preliminary investigations have revealed that the fire was a result of an oil lamp that was burning inside the shop.
Spokesman for the police, S P Ruwan Gunasekara said no casualties have been reported as a result of the fire.
Investigations into the incident are currently being carried out by the Talawakele Police.
