The police today arrested a woman aged 30 in Pitawila, Moragahahena for the possession of illicit liquor.

According to the police, 52,500 ml of illicit liquor stored in 70 bottles were seized from the women.

The suspect who is reportedly a resident in Kumuka North is to be produced before the Horana Magistrate’s Court today (20).

Meanwhile, police arrested another person in Grandpass for the possession of 40g and 440mg of heroin.

The police also seized Rs 210,100 in possession of the suspect that had been acquired from the heroin business he was involved in.

Police say that the suspect will be produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court today, the police said.
