Police curfew re-imposed for Teldeniya and Pallekele

A police curfew has been re-imposed in the Teldeniya and Pallekele Police Divisions with immediate effect until 6.00pm today (6), police announced. 

The decision to reimpose the curfew in these areas came after an earlier curfew imposed in the Kandy administrative district was lifted at 6.00am today. The curfew was imposed from 3.00pm yesterday in response to violent incidents that occurred in Teldeniya and Digana areas.

A heavy police and Special Task Force (STF) presence prevails in the area.
