A number of senior officers belonging to the Sri Lanka Police graduated with advanced degrees from the University of Sri Jayawardenepura and recieved their certificates at the University's graduation ceremony held recently at the BMICH.
Accordingly, DIG Dinesh Karunanayake obtained a Doctorate of Philosophy at the graduation ceremony while Buddhika Siriwardena, Kurunegala District DIG and Asanka Karawita, DIG for the Prime Minister's Security Division received a Masters in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
Meanwhile several Police officers including Police Media Spokesperson SP Ruwan Gunasekara and ASP Chandana Somasinghe received a Postgraduate Diploma in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
In addition a Masters Degree in Geographic Information System and Remote Communication conducted by the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was awarded to the following officers - ASP Ruwan Kumarasekara, Chief Inspector K. Kumarasinghe,K. S. Pathirana, Dilip De Silva, and Police Inspectors Sujeewa Gunawardena, Dinesh Maduranga De Silva and Irosh Wilwalaarachchi.
