Police seize 2500 Tramadol tablets

Police in Madampe have arrested a suspect with 2500 tablets of the banned opioid pain medication 'Tramadol.' The seized stock is estimated to be worth Rs 750, 000.

The suspect was transporting the drugs on a motorbike last morning when he was stopped and arrested by police. 

Police have uncovered that the suspect, a resident of Madape old town, is the distributor of these drugs in the Chilaw, Naththandiya, Kuliyapitiya, Bingiriya and several other areas.

The suspect has told police that he sells one Tramadol tablet for Rs.300.
