A police sub-inspector attached to the Southern Special Crime Investigation Unit has been arrested in connection with the abduction of two businessmen in Rathgama last week.
The suspect has been identified as 26-year old H.G.V. Madushanka.
On a previous occasion, Police Inspector Kapila Nishantha was arrested on February 18 and remanded the next day.
The CID is carrying out investigations into the abduction upon the directives of IGP Pujith Jayasundara.
