The Attorney General's advice is to be sought to decide on future legal action against the Finance Ministry's Information Director who was arrested yesterday (May 29), police said.
Mohamed Ali Hassan, the Information Director, was arrested during a search operation at his residence in Malwana when security forces had discovered ammunition on the roof of his house, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara told the press.
He noted that Mr. Hassan was taken in for questioning over suspicion of having knowledge regarding the ammunition at his residence.
Police and the Army had discovered 93 rounds of ammunition used in Bore-12 weapons during the search.
