Police used tear gas and water canons to disperse a group of Bodu Bala Sena (BBS) protesters who had demanded the release of BBS General Secretary Gnansara Thero a short while ago.
The protest was staged opposite the Presidential Secretariat in Galle Road.
Former Minister and leader of the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) Douglas Devenanada was arrested by the Criminal investigation Department (CID) today.
