Trade unionists at the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) on Thursday urged the authorities to bring back a former shipping industry official now resident overseas as its Managing Director. This comes in the wake of eight officials in the fray for the post being currently under investigation for corruption during the previous regime. UNP-controlled Jathika Sevaka Sangamaya (JSS) leader Udeni Kaluthanthri told reporters that they want to bring down Mr. G.M. Premachandra which had the concurrence of the minister as well. (SD)
