Postal services paralyzed due to strike

The island-wide token strike launched by postal trade unions have severely affected postal services throughout the country. Unions commenced their strike at midnight yesterday. The token 48-hour strike is only due to end at midnight tomorrow. 

Most post offices around the country were closed today owing to the strike, severely inconveniencing the public. Letters and packages are currently piled up at the Postal Department's Central Exchange. 

With the strike looming, the Department of Posts yesterday, took steps to cancel leave of all its employees. However, many workers have still chosen to go on strike.
