President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed a five-member Commission to investigate into malpractices and corruption in state institutions from January 15, 2015 to December 31, last year.
This was confirmed through a gazette notification issued by President's Secretary Udaya R. Senaviratne.
The Commission would be headed by retired Supreme Court judge Upali Abeyratne and would comprise of four other members.
Retired High Court judge Kusala Sarojani Weerawardena, reitred Auditor General P.A. Premathilaka, retired ministry secretary Lalith R. De Silva, and retired DIG Wijeya Amarasinghe are the other members of the Commission.
