President Maithripala Sirisena has established a new Salaries Commission to provide recommendations on the preparation of a national salary policy for both public and private sector employees.
Accordingly, the previous Salaries Commission which was established on March 03, 2016 would cease to function on March 24 as the new Commission would commence duties on March 25.
S. Ranugge has been appointed as the head of the Commission which comprises 12 members while Anura Jayawickrama has been appointed as its Secretary.
The other members are C.P. Siriwardena, Damitha de Zoysa, Lalith Kannangara, Janaka Sugathadasa, Chitranganee Wagiswara, Chandrani Senaratne, Kingsley Fernando, G.S. Edirisinghe, M.C. Wickramasekara, Dr. Palitha Abeykoon, D. Abeysuriya, and Leslie Shelton Devendra.
