President Maithripala Sirisena reached New Delhi this afternoon to attend the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister Narendra Modi who was elected to office for the second time.
The President was received at the Indira Gandhi International Airport by senior officials of the Indian Foreign Ministry, the President's Media Division said. Sri Lanka High Commissioner Austin Fernando and other officials were also present to welcome the President.
Mr. Sirisena, will attend the inaugural ceremony at the Rashtrapathi Bhavan in New Delhi this evening, where Prime Minister Modi will take oaths as Prime Minister for the second term in office.
