President Maithripala Sirisena has left for Japan on a three-day official visit, his final state tour as President, today (Oct 21).
The President accompanied by a 21-member delegation had left the country at around 1:10 am on Thai Airways flight TJ-308.
Sirisena will attend the enthronement ceremony of Japanese Emperor Naruhito on an invitation extended by the Japanese government at the Tokyo Imperial Palace.
His term in office will expire after a new President is election following the November 16 presidential election.
