President Maithripala Sirisena, today (Nov 30) declared open the Moragahakanda-Kaluganga project which is expected to facilitate irrigational activities for over 82,000 hectares of farm land.
According to the President's Media Division, the project is expected to enahnce the lives of 1.5 million families while generating 25 MW hydro-powers to the national grid.
Apart from providing clean drinking water, the project would also witness the birth of over 5000 hectares of land for agriculture.
