President pays final respects to Amarapura Maha Nayaka Thera

President Maithripala Sirisena has rendered his final respects to the late Maha Nayaka Thera of the Amarapura Nikaya, Most Venerable Dauldena Gnanissara Thera.

President Sirisena paid his respects to the Thera yesterday at the Sri Vidya Wijaya Vihara in Pagoda, Nugegoda, where the remains of the late Thera are currently being kept.   

The Thera's funeral is due to take place with full state honors tomorrow (6) at Independence Square.
