President Maithripala Sirisena reiterated once again that government will go ahead with its plans to reintroduce death penalty for those who found guilty of smuggling drugs into the country.
Noting that the drug menace is challenge to the whole country including the North, President Sirisena said in Jaffna yesterday that without any reluctance steps will be taken to enforce the rules and regulations including the capital punishment against persons who engaged in drug smuggling even when they are in prison.
