President Maithripala Sirisena has decided to convene cabinet meetings at 8:30 am from next Tuesday due to a poor turnout at recent meetings.
Cabinet meetings had been held at 9:30 am before it had been revised to 7:30 am since this month, the President's office said.
However, addressing an event in Polonnaruwa recently, Mr Sirisena had pointed out that only between 5 - 6 ministers had attended the meeting at the revised time.
Sources at the presidential secretariat said the President had decided to revise timings again since only a few ministers had attended yesterday's cabinet meeting.
