President Maithripala Sirisena who is on a two day official visit to Singapore held bilateral discussions with Prime Singapore Prime Minister Mr. Lee Hsien Loong today( Jan 25).
During discussion President Sirisena is reported to have raised issues surrounding the Free Trade Agreement signed between Singapore and Sri Lanka at these discussions, the President's Media Division said.
Further President Sirisena informed PM Loong that Sri lanka would make certain amendments to the FTA as there were "certain weaknesses on the Sri Lanka side" when drafting the agreement.
The two leaders agreed to further strengthen trade, tourism, and industrial relations between the two countries during this meeting, the statement said.
