President to visit Malaysia next month

President Maithripala Sirisena is due to undertake an official visit to Malaysia on December 15. The visit is being made on the invitation of the Malaysian Government. 

Several MOUs are expected to be signed between the two countries during President Sirisena's visit. These include MOUs in areas such as education, culture, tourism, investment and trade.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that Malaysia is also keen on entering into a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Sri Lanka. Details of the proposed FTA are also likely to be discussed during President Sirisena's visit.
