The country will be destroyed if all communities do not live with mutual understanding, President Maithripala Sirisena said yesterday (Jun 4).
Addressing an Ifthar Ceremony at the President's House, Mr. Sirisena said that the government will take the necessary steps to ensure peace and security in the country.
However, he urged that the people should act intelligently while resolving communal issues which have arisen in the recent past.
President Sirisena also noted that he has instructed the authorities to release suspects who have not been found guilty after being arrested over the Easter Sunday attacks.
