President´s office issues two gazette notifications ; confirmation given on Mahinda's appointment and Ranil's removal

A gazette notification issued by the President's office notes that Mahinda Rajapaksa has been appointed as the Prime Minister of the country since yesterday (26).

Meanwhile, another gazette notification issued by the President´s Office states that Ranil Wickremesinghe has been removed from the position of Prime Minister as per Section 42 (Article 4) of the constitution.
